Search this forum for the info, its a pretty common topic.
consensus is 200-400 jumps minimum.

Surely, 33 jumps is not enough. I started with 250, doing 4-ways and some tandems. You have to be sure you can go to where ever you want in the air. Maybe you can put on a videosuit from somebody else and just try to stay not more than 2 meters away from a solo jumper or above a little group. Also useful is some RW before making videos. Talk to your teacher at the DZ. Just try it and then think about it again.

I would avoid the advice about jumping a camera suit in a simulated camera jump.

The reason that you want several hundred jumps before starting with a camera, is that shooting video is an activity. Skydiving is also an activity, and doing both at the same time can be tricky.

At this stage of the game, you need to be focused on making a safe skydive, and nothing more. You need to be a part of every skydive you are on. Often times a camera flyer is on the outside of the skydive, doing his own thing. Part of this is observing the skydivers, and making sure that thier problems don't become his problems, or vice versa.

There are a small handfull of jumpers who will be focused on thier skydive, and thinking about the camera flyer at the same time. Most jumpers will forget that you're there, and may try to kill you because of that.

Just to put it in perspective, many camera flyers at a busy DZ will do more than 33 jumps in a long weekend. You've got a long way to go, don't rush yourself into an unsafe situation.

First of all, re-phrase your question... You wanna do some video work like filming aff tandems or you just wanna put a camera in your helmet to film whatever is your front even if u jump solo?
Putting the question as you have done everybody will assume you asking the first option, and will tell you for sure about 200jumps. But if you want to put a small dv in your helmet and jump with it just to see what you can get, I think ppl will give you a diferent answer.
Anyway I'm not a good example for talk about it ;)

No.

Actually, most experienced camera people will say that no matter what the set up is going to be he should probably wait until he has 200 jumps and his country's equivalent to the USPA C license.

This is absolutely, 100% false.

What you plan on pointing your camera at does not change the danger level.

"going along for the ride" is just as dangerous, and in many ways more dangerous, than shooting tandem video.

this has been addressed many times.

the number isnt set in stone as to whe nto start jumping camera, its more less when you can feel comfortable with flying yourself. If you can go up on an high strees jump....larger formation, more people, and feel comfortable and be able to fly, and get out of the way of others...then you can start to think about flying camera.

Me personally I was at around 400+ jumps before I hooked up a camera...and that was just for my FFing...then i started filming tandems, AFF students, RW and FF jumps, with a MUCH larger helmet....now I have a Still camera attached which adds more of a risk.

Just remember that everything you add to the equation adds more and more risk.
