DaGimp 0 #1 March 6, 2004 Thats right....I have just finished hooking up my helmet. I have just proven that you can fit a TRV-22 AND a Digital Rebel on top of a Flat Top Narrow. It was a little tough but I got it. I'll post pics tomorrow.....didnt bring my other camera home tonight."Professor of Pimpology"~~~Bolas

lewmonst 0 #4 March 6, 2004 ? why would the rebel lense be in view on your TRV if you front mounted it? How far back is your TRV mounted? post pics, i'd like to see this... peace lewhttp://www.exitshot.com
DaGimp 0 #5 March 7, 2004 you know Lew I would love to post pics...but for some reason my program isnt reconizing my camera....but right now I have the TRV-22 all the way up front with a couple of corner brackets from home depot to keep it in its place, with the Rebel mounted behiend it on a block of wood to elevate it above the TRV. Its a hell of alot heavier then with just the camcorder....gona take it on its maidan flight tomorrow."Professor of Pimpology"~~~Bolas

vdschoor 0 #16 March 10, 2004 Quoteyes mine is deffiantly taller then yours...although yours is heavier then mine is. Probably, my camera is heavier, and the lens I am using is heavier as well. And then on top of that, the helmet itself is heavier than the newer flattops. That's why I am saving Jake! To get myself a Flat Top Pro.. Iwan

vdschoor 0 #22 March 11, 2004 Gimp, After looking at that setup again, you could lower that who thing considerably if you put your video behind the stills... or did that not work? I would still give the front mount a try.. it works for pretty much everybody that has a FTP, so I wonder why it wouldn't work for you. Just bump up the zoom a bit and the lens will disappear from the video. Iwan
Deuce 1 #23 March 11, 2004 Hey, Jake? Try mounting that teeny video camera out front with the stills on top. You have the kit lens on the Rebel, right? The video won't show on it. That was the setup I wanted to use on my FTP, but it doesn't allow for portrait photography with the other stuff I'm mounting.
lewmonst 0 #24 March 12, 2004 eeek. well, you've proven something alright... you'll have to very careful to not whack the still off in the door or elsewhere. and there's a lot of snag potential, nasty snag potential. it looks tall enough that even bad line twists could cause a problem... but hey, if it works for you, then it works for you. i still don't understand why frontmounting the still didn't work... now you're taller than me, congrats. peace lewhttp://www.exitshot.com
davelepka 4 #25 March 12, 2004 Thats quite a set up you've got there. Has anyone ever told you you're f**kin crazy? If not, you won't have to wait long. You are brave, however. Very brave.
