PC105 Mounting Options

Recommended Posts

Would to know if any out there has a similar setup.

I have a pc105 and Canon Rebel Digital. I want to top mount both. I will be vertically mounting the still. I want to place to pc 105 on top as well, but here's my problem.

The pc 105 has the Diamond .3 wide angle lens. At first, I thought it would be easy just to place it in a Dbox from bonehead, but having heard that the lip on the box extends to far out and the lens picks this up, this seems like it won't work too well.

Does anyone else have any suggestions or a similar setup that they could share (photos preferably).

Thanks

What other options are there other than using the Dbox. Would a stroboframe Quick Release with Anti-Twist plate be secure enough for the pc105? This is the first pc type camera that I have used, my other camera is the TRV900 which was a no brainer to mount.

Just looking for any and all options for top mounting the pc105.

www.cookiecomposites.com/boxes_cc.htm these guys. They have a VERY nice looking box that is already built for the PC/0.3 lens combo. It's slightly more money (About $30) but it's sharp looking. I wish I had gotten that instead of a Bonehead.

Thanks for the link. I don't like the Bonehead boxes and was pretty much settled on an L-bracket and an Optik. Now I'm not so sure. The sticker shock, though... I guess it's cheaper than a new camera[:/]

Watch my video....after I have the collision with the sit flyer....yep...thats the entire top and front pieces of my camera I tear off. Thank God for 100MPH tape. It held my Kenko lens until I got under canopy. I'm a roaming advertisement AGAINST L-Brackets. I broke my camera TWICE in about 100 jumps. An L-bracket MIGHT be OK if all you did was shoot tandem or maybe 4 way video but if you plan to get in the mix.......you have to have some protection. Don't make the $900 mistake I did.

Also Cookie makes a great little helmet too, I have one on order:)From what I've seen the Dbox is pretty much one of the best on the retail market (I've seen a couple of really slick custom made ones).
Once i get my camera I'll be getting a Cookie box fot it too:)
