JayhawkJumper 0 #1 February 11, 2004 I found a 16mm lense for the 10D, anyone who is using the 10D in the air, how will this lense work? Is it plenty wide?
AlvaroCarvalho 0 #2 February 11, 2004 Hello! I don't know if you're talking about Zenitar Lenses (Russia)...they're very cheap and weights no more than 0.4 Kg... Does anyone tried those? What's the feedback? Take a look at the site Hey...ho...let's go!
vdschoor 0 #3 February 11, 2004 Hi there, The 16mm will be plenty wide, it will be somewhere between a 24 and 28 on a 35mm camera (in comparison). Personally I wouldn't go with lenses like these, you have to use an adapter to put it on your camera and all that stuff. Why go cheap on your lenses if you already spent 1500 bucks on your camera? The lens is overall more important than the body when it comes to picture quality.. Go for a Sigma or a Canon lens with that camera is what I would recommend.. I have seen some pictures of those lenses on other photo forums, but never skydiving related. The pictures look ok on the web, I don't know how good they are when printed up enlarged or anything. Thanks, Iwan
ltdiver 3 #4 February 11, 2004 Thanks for the feedback. I was looking at that -exact- web page last night and investigating the quality of their 14mm lens (not listed there, but I'm told they make one as well). Cajones is doing some research though a contact of his. Hope he chimes in here when he knows more. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
Cajones 0 #5 February 12, 2004 I got some e-mai feedback on the Russian 8mm and 12mm... "The 8 is superwide but only good for specail shots as the photo does not fill the whloe frame. The barell of the lense is around the edges. The 12 is hard to find but glass quialty is very high.It is heavey and goes way out with adapter ring but smaller than 14 and 15 Ive seen jumped." I've asked for some sample images from both the 8mm and 12mm... I'll let you know when I get them. - Cajones The laws of physics are strictly enforced.
