Keith 0 #2 March 29, 2003 Who is it? I'm from San Diego maybe I know him. What I've done in the past when selling gear on line is to have someone act as an escrow agent. The person I'm selling the gear to sends the cashiers check or money order to the disinterested third party. Once that person gets the check I send the gear to the buyers rigger. Once the rigger OK's the gear, the buyer contacts the "escrow agent" who then releases the check to me. It's worked very well for me. Good luck.Keith Don't Fuck with me Keith - J. EVERYBODY is intrested in money/making money so if he gets your money and doesn't know you it's gone. And if that 3rd person knows you why would the buyer wanna work this way? ------- SIGNATURE BELOW ------- Complete newbie at skydiving, so be critical about what I say!! Clownburner 0 #5 March 29, 2003 If you don't know a good 'third party' or can't agree on one, There are also commercial escrow services that will do this for you for a small fee. If you're really worried about it, this is a good way to go. Try www.escrow.com or do a search on 'escrow services' on Yahoo or similar.7CP#1 | BTR#2 | Payaso en fuego Rodriguez "I want hot chicks in my boobies!"- McBeth

GeorgeOrwell 0 #7 March 29, 2003 I bought my first rig online it was a mirage and about the same total as yours E-mail the seller to see if he will send the rig to your dz for inspection also tell the seller that the dz will act as the third party(provided that the dz also agrees)inspect the rig and then ether send him the money or the rig back Thanks and good luck Eric W Blair-------------------------------------------------- If your not jumping your not living LEARN TO LIVE (L2L)
dgskydive 0 #8 March 30, 2003 Here is another way to do it. You can have the third party be a gear store. Have him send it to one and let them have it inspected. It will cost the seller about 100.00 or so . If it is good gear the store will let you know. Plus they will make sure it is sold for a fair price. Then you have the peace of mind that you will get what you are paying for and not have to worry about some body running off with your check.Dom
