x3mcam 0 #1 January 18, 2004 Anybody use this? I think I'll order one, but can I trust that it really holds my TRV-25 camera? Sadly it wouldn't be the first camera/helmet I'd drop from the sky........ http://www.pia.com/skydance/accessor.htm#4 Tomppa ps. where can I find a cheap camera-condom.?? Skydance I know, but somebody else who'd send it to Europe??
Deuce 1 #2 January 18, 2004 That "compact quick release" is a Stroboframe QR 300. You can get them from B&H or Calumet for about $65 I think. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist.jsp&A=getpage&Q=RootPage.jsp http://www.calumetphoto.com/syrinx/ctl?PAGE=Controller&ac.ui.pn=home.Home&ns=1 Edit, Yeah they are plenty strong enough. linestretch 0 #3 January 18, 2004 if it's the straboframe, I highly recommend it. And you "should" be able to get it for cheaper than 65 bucks. I think I got mine for around 50, and I thought I got it through the B&Hphoto website. But yes, it's plenty strong.my pics & stuff!
Deuce 1 #4 January 18, 2004 $59.99 at Calumet $56.50 at B&H Search for "300-QRC" It is the same mount.
jmfreefly 0 #5 January 19, 2004 Actually, the pic I saw was a BOGEN mount. Personally, I don't like the BOGEN mount. The stroboframe is a better bet if low-profile is what you want. If lightness is what you want, go with the Velbon QRA-635 (I think..) The newest models have a silly bubble level in it, but you can find the older models still being sold if you look hard enough. I use the Velbon. j
