lazyfrog 0 #1 January 11, 2004 I jump with a Sony PC8 and 0.6 sony wide angle. after a few damp jumps Last year I now sometimes have a circle looking like condensation in the middle of the image. Didn't really analyse if it came in special conditions (cold, dampness etc). does anybody know how to "dry" the camera ???---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT
velo90 0 #2 January 12, 2004 1. Buy a UV filter for a normal camera where the glass is the same size as the end of you wide angle lens (the larger end). 2. Removed the surrounding metal on the filter. 3. Place the glasss filter on the end of the wide angle lense and fix it in place using some insulation tape. Some have tried to glue the filter but insultaion tape is really all you need. This will not only prevent the condensation forming, it will also protect the glass on your wide angle lense. Should the filter become scratched, you can replace the filter far cheaper than the lense. Dave
danwayland 0 #3 January 12, 2004 Here's some info in a previous thread recommending cat crap. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=601104;search_string=foggy%20lens;#601104 I posted something about this a year or two ago, but I think the only thing we came up with was to mount an fxc calibration filled with with silica gel packs to my helmet. Cat Crap sounds slightly more practical, but not as creative. -- Dan Wayland http://www.danwayland.com
