SkydiveMO 0 #1 January 9, 2004 I’m looking for some advice on the best way to exit the Casa or Sky Van if you’re videoing a raft dive. On my last attempt the jumpers gave a good count and then got stuck in the door, unfortunately I went. Lucky for me they instantly flipped on exit and funneled down to my level in no time. Where have you found is the best spot to exit and what should you look for to time your exit? Thanks and Blue Skies
PhreeZone 20 #2 January 9, 2004 I've had great luck by putting the videographer on the nose of the raft just holding on. As soon as the raft starts out the door the videographer falls off and starts tracking up the hill back to the raft. This will put you on level or just above the raft. Holding on to the rope with one hand and using the other to puch off the raft works quite well too. Standing up has never worked for me.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
AndyMan 7 #3 January 9, 2004 I've gotten some pretty good shots taking a standard tailgate camera exit, standing in the door up against one of the walls. Don't go until you see the raft come up off the floor. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
Deuce 1 #4 January 9, 2004 There are round holes in the SkyVan door that you can hold on to with one foot either out on the step, or back on the brace. This gets you completely out of the way of the folks throwing the raft. Exit right on top of the first person out. Wear your camera wings. When the raft works, it's pretty slow. diablopilot 2 #5 January 9, 2004 In a skyvan or casa there is usualy some sort of hand hold. One hand on that and one hand on a front raft "hanger". Don't leave until they do. Should be easy not to be right on top of them.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. slayer21016 2 #7 January 10, 2004 My favorite raft exit position is in the raft, in the rear or front facing the rear.(LOL i said in the rear) ---------
