Writing on Canopy

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure chalk would adhere to a ZP canopy very well - on opening it would probably look more like the infamous baby-powder "explosions". Not to mention getting smeared quite a bit while packing.

I wouldn't put any sort of chemical (marker, etc) on my canopy unless it was ready for the trash-bin. Never know what might react unfavorably with the fabric. At the very least it might stain permanently.

Is there a safe and NON-permanent way to write something on the top skin of a canopy?

Something that could be easily seen after opening, but not permanent...

top skin or bottom skin??? only people that would see the topskin would be other jumpers above you...i suggest a sharpee, though may slightly decrease the value of your canopy at sale time...

Markers or ink will stain ZP or F111 (been there, done that while making wind blades)

What is the end purpose going to be? Is it something that you could tack on with masking tape and peel off after a jump?

What about window chalk?

It would most likely stick a lot better to zero-p fabric than normal chalk... (... but I'm wondering if this isn't an F-111 canopy... ;)) I don't know if it has any chemicals in it that might be detrimental to it, but it seems pretty harmless. :)
