sunman 0 #1 December 27, 2003 Whenever it's on, it zooms in very slowly, and I have no control over the zoom, either manually or by remote. It has performed flawlessly since I bought it six months ago, and I use it a lot. This just started happening suddenly today. Any help is appreciated. Any help is appreciated. well if you bought it six months ago it is under warrenty and you should give it to sony for them to fix...... they will give you 1 years parts warrenty and 90 days parts and labor.... so it will cost you a little for labor but it isnt to much.. think about it this way... either send it in or just dont use it.... look in your owners manual for the number... jeremyneas 0 #3 December 28, 2003 DON'T tell them you use it for skydiving, and DON'T leave a tape in it. Make sure the camera isn't in some kind of unusual postion on your head. Maybe the zoom switch is leaning on something.
diablopilot 2 #4 December 29, 2003 Quoteso it will cost you a little for labor but it isnt to much.. Sony repair centers have pre calculated repair rates for each of their products. For my old TRV17 it was $225 for labor, parts under warrenty.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. jmfreefly 0 #5 January 2, 2004 I had similar problem on my pc100, and was a result of the mechanism to 'capture' the lens was damaged. Send it to sony.
partyboy 0 #6 January 3, 2004 Yea, dont be fooled on some low price idea. They have fixed rates, and hourly wages, your gonna pay$$, sorry man, with that piece of machinery, yea. Do this drain the battery all the way down, then with a full charge, try it again. Sometimes, these devices pull back their lenses in certain modes, or power saving features. I have a sony dcs-p92 digital camera, and when I am on idle for a bit, or SWITCH to a different mode, the lenses zooms back as well, man your camera is probably fine, were you the guy that didnt read his manual, lol. Up High!!
