harryskydives 0 #1 December 22, 2003 I am thinking about buying a digital still camera. When i was looking at them, the sales people seemed not to know of any that had a connection for a remote switch. Also once you go above 3.2 mpixel the price goes up fast. Any suggestions on witch on to get. I do not want to spend any more than i need to. I do have a camera helmet set up but seldom jump it. I use a poloroid for my work but plan to use this camera instead. If i get a new camera i would like to be able to jump it. Any suggestions. Don't run out of altitude and experience at the same time...
PhreeZone 20 #2 December 22, 2003 My opinion... Digital Rebel. It gives you a complete SLR camera in a digital fotmat. 6.3 megapixels and its set up for remote usage out of the box. Alot of the cheaper camera's don't allow any remote useage at all. Yours for just 899 or 999 with a lens. jedeisurf 0 #3 December 24, 2003 You may want to look at a MINOLTA DIMAGE 7hi I was going to buy one but have decided to save for a Digital Rebal or 10D. David

PhreeZone 20 #5 December 26, 2003 Totally not acceptible for freefall. No remote shutter release, WAY too slow on the buffer size for freefall also. It only shoots 2.5 images straight before it has to recyle the buffer. Something like this is better suited for on the ground photos. The D30 is a cheap alternitive thats totally able to be used in Freefall. Its just an older model that can be picked up for $600 or so new (with out a lens) in warehouses.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Another nice thing about the Rebel is that you can use the Conceptus switch right out of the box. With the 10D (even though it is VASTLY superior ) you have to get a remote and chop it up to make a release.

That is if you have the stereo plug.. the normal one works as well, but will lock the camera so it is not very fast after 4 pictures anymore. It will try to focus all the time, that state of the camera prevents it to write to the CF card. Thanks, Iwan
