dragon2 2 #1 November 30, 2003 Anybody has any tips on streamin video? So far I tried exporting video to quicktime and windows media. The QT download vids turns out great but are fairly big. QT streaming is great audio-wise but video quality is lacking. WMV streaming is great video-wise but sound is weirdish. Haven't tried exporting RealPlayer vids yet; personally I don't really like RealPlayer that much. I'm using Cleaner XL to export from a Premiere Pro avi file. Anybody has any tips? I want to have say 240x180 px streaming video on my website that can be viewed with a modem too... So far I get this: source: 2.15 min Avi streaming: 112k.wmv 1,6 MB 112k.mov 3,3 MB 256k.wmv 3,5 MB 256k.mov 7 MB 56k.wmv 0,6 MB 56k.mov 1,2 MB download vids: medium.mov 7,9 MB small.mov 4 MB small.wmv 4 MB I think the 112k streaming WMV is oka-ish, except for the weird sound. Is 1,6 MB too much for say a 56k6 modem? I've been spoiled with ADSL for too long ciel bleu, Saskia
blazetailman 0 #2 November 30, 2003 Personally I don't cater to the 56k crowd. Has to do with quality and the fact 56k users are used to waiting. My preference. I think broadband users are the ones who will be seeing them more due to their abitly to them. I have a bunch of videos on my site coverted from avi to wmv files @ 480x360 30 fps, broadband set to 2 streams 320 kbits/s and 760 kbit/s for video and audio 128kbit/s click the link below to see them under the video section. Some are sizeable. 30megs.. Let me know how user freindly they are to download with your dsl..www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com
docjohn 0 #3 December 1, 2003 I also assume that I'm catering to a broad band audience. 56k modem users can still download the file. Might take all night for them to download but they can then view them off their hard drive. Using Premiere, I create WMV files at 256 kbps and get great audio and acceptable video. A 7 minute video is around 12 megs. Check out my video site and see for yourself http://manifestmaster.com/video/ Hope this helps Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
dragon2 2 #4 December 3, 2003 Well I finally put 2 videos up: My first video ever, of 3 training jumps I did with the Belgian CF Team at Gap, aka 'Keep your camera still stupid' and a video of a swooping competition. I looked at your site, takes a while (too long!) before anything starts happening... Also, the aspect ratio doesn't seem right (I had the same problem, the hardcoded size for the video apperantly includes the control bar).
