BlackholeSon 0 #1 November 12, 2003 Let me say first, I'm not strapping a camera helmet onto my head anytime soon. However, I will admit that I have a keen interest in camera flying and I have begun the intense research this particular facet of our beautiful sport warrants. I approach this endeavor with the same methodology I use in regards to my safety and the safety of those I jump with. Okay. I've been in contact with two camera helmet companies and so far 2K Composites is at the top of my list. So, 2KC FF2 owners, I ask... 1.Do you feel as if the cutaway handle is too big? I understand the logic behind making it this size, i.e. two fingers with gloves on, but I'm curious about your overall impressions of the cutaway handle, it's functionality and the handle stability as freefly airspeeds increase. 2.What type of care and maintenance is recommended with this cutaway system? By the looks of the three-ring release, I would assume this system is treated much like main canopy risers. Would you routinely disassemble and flex the helmet release webbing as such? Anyone else have comments about this particular helmet?---------- Here's to cheating, stealing, fighting, and drinking. If you cheat, cheat death. If you steal, steal a woman's heart. bskyz 0 #2 November 12, 2003 Well I can't speak for the cutaway system, because I bought my helmet before it came out -but I love 2k's helmets. I got the FF2 as my first camera helmet, and have been very happy with it... the fit and finish is excellent, and it's very comfortable. Blue ones Dave My site... Supergeil 0 #3 November 12, 2003 No the handle is not to big and it can manage a headdown whit any problems. The maintenance is gone with the stainless steel rings but lubricate it with silicone like you do on your normal tree ring system. Supergeil
BlackholeSon 0 #4 November 12, 2003 Very cool. Thanks to both of you. Supergeil, you posted a few pics of your helmet on another thread, that is one sweet setup you got there. Is the CameyeII button located on the right side? If that's what I'm looking at, it looks convex, like the area around the button is raised up??? See pic attached...I hope you don't mind I used your picture for reference. Speaking of comfort. How do you guys like the liner? It appears to be comprised of a few different sections. Looks nice and comfy to me.---------- Here's to cheating, stealing, fighting, and drinking. If you cheat, cheat death. If you steal, steal a woman's heart. If you fight, fight for a brother. Supergeil 0 #5 November 13, 2003 You are welcome hope it could helpAnd yes the cameye is convex on the right side no problems finding it with gloves on. The liner is split in tree so you can open and operate the camera, it fits very nice and tight. Supergeil
