meridianjumper 0 #1 March 24, 2003 Has anyone noticed pain in their knees or arthoritis in their knees from years of packing? I pack on carpet which is laid out on the hanger floor. After a full day of jumping and packing and packing other folks rigs, I start to really have some pain in my knees that lasts a couple of days. Just wondering if this is something else that folks have trouble with? Blue Skies, Jeremy
AggieDave 6 #2 March 24, 2003 I don't and I'm a packer, but then again the packing area at SD Aggieland is carpet on the hanger floor. However, under the carpet is 2" of high density foam, like what they use for teaching little kids gymnastics. That makes all the difference in the world. If I didn't have that, I would pack wearing kneepads. (I have some really screwed up knees).--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." floormonkey 0 #3 March 24, 2003 When I pack alot (more than 30 rigs per day) which is from about march - oct, I wear knee pads. The other packer wears pads more often- she's been doing it for 3 yars and complains about her knees all the time. I highly reccommend knee pads...I am about to make some pants and shorts with built in pads, as the wrap-around sport pads are annoying and stink. councilman24 37 #4 March 24, 2003 After about 8 years of rigging I had one really screwed up knee. After 10 years of always wearing knee pads, its finally healed itself. The first thing I do when I start working on a rig is to put on my knee pads. So yes you can screw up knees packing. TerryI'm old for my age. skydivegirl 0 #6 March 24, 2003 Hey Jeremy... do you remember Miranda wearing knee pads to pack? She went a few months last spring wearing them all the time. She said they made a big difference. Pink Mafia Sis #
meridianjumper 0 #7 March 24, 2003 lol! Yeah, James made a few comments about her wearing knee pads. ;-) Blue Skies, Jeremy
riggerrob 643 #8 March 25, 2003 Packing on straight concrete is brutal on knees. Now I only pack on carpet. However, the worst thing for my left knee seems to be getting up and down. I have a weak tendon in my left knee that complains loudly whenever I do deep knee bends.

Hey there you cheeky primate, do you fancy making a set of pants like this for me to soften the impact of my "dynamic landings"!!! Please?!! Nick P.S. NOT a post whore - just too lazy to PM.
