INSANEDADDY 0 #1 November 3, 2003 Has anyone ordered any camera gear from them? I have read the reviews and there are some negative feedback. They do advertise the lowest price on the pc-120. It might not be worth trying to save a buck and get totally screwed. Where is the best place to buy camera gear online? You dont't get to choose how you're going to die. INSANEDADDY 0 #3 November 3, 2003 I guess you just made up my mind. What about camera city? I found the 120 there for 874.00. Thanks for the info........ http://www.ccicameracity.com/epproduct.asp?ccode=snpc120 You dont't get to choose how you're going to die. indyz 1 #4 November 3, 2003 Doesn't look good: http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1734.html You can put just about any online retailer into Reseller Ratings and see what other people think about them. For what it's worth, I'm planning on buying a PC105 for next season and based on what I've heard on DZ.com and Reseller Ratings, I'll probably be getting it from Dbuys.com. BlackholeSon 0 #6 November 3, 2003 INSANEDADDY, If it's a pc-120 you're after, check out B&H Photo Video. I've ordered from them in the past. The video post-production facility I work for has ordered from them as well with no problems at all. The camera is a bit more $$$, but you'd still be saving IMO. I've been looking at a pc-120 and the 2KC FF2. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=239662&is=REG---------- Here's to cheating, stealing, fighting, and drinking. lewmonst 0 #7 November 3, 2003 B&H is definately a good way to go if you're determined to get it online. In my experience, it is best to buy from an actual store. I've bought camera equipment just about every way possible... Now if it's something substantial, I'll buy from Ritz Camera STORE, (not RitzCamera.com!). Reason is, if you have an issue, you go in and talk to someone, they can't hide and you don't wait for email responses or phone calls. Ritz offers an extra warranty that covers everything except theft and fire. I bought my 10D from a Ritz store, after doing a lot of research, and knowing i was spending more. But Ritz new I was taking the camera skydiving. I showed them my flattop and explained it all to the sales guy. If I drop it, all I have to do is bring the pieces back to the store (any of their stores) in a bag and they give me a new one. And considering how hard skydiving is on cameras, that warranty is worth it to me. Note, Ritz Camera stores are different from the online store. as stated on their website: QuoteRitz Camera Centers, with its almost 1,300 stores, (which includes Ritz Camera, Boaters World, Wolf Camera, Kits Camera and others), is a separate company from Ritz Interactive and its e-commerce websites, (which include RitzCamera.com, BoatersWorld.com, WolfCamera.com, CameraWorld.com and others). Ritz Camera Centers will accept exchanges from Ritz Interactive e-commerce websites on the same terms and condition as it does from other competitors, however, returns can only be made to Ritz Interactive websites. (See our websites for details.) that's my advice, go to the store, buy the warranty. don't worry about it if you bust it.http://www.exitshot.com
INSANEDADDY 0 #8 November 3, 2003 Does Ritz camera store carry PC model sony cameras? I will check them out. There is one in the local mall here. I have been to Best Buy and Circuit city here and they dont carry high end sony pc model cameras. I was thinking the same as you with the warrarty issues. I like the idea of dealing with someone face to face. I have talked to camera flyers at the DZ and they said dont worry about the warranty. I might end up getting the PC-330 instead of the 120 I wish I could find some feedback to how much better it is than the 120. Decisions, decisions....... lewmonst 0 #9 November 3, 2003 Oh yeah... that's a problem. i remember now, I bought my PC120 from Ultimate Electronics in Phoenix, after i dropped my Ebay-bought PC5 for the last time during the eloy boogie last year. I got a warranty from Ultimate, not like Ritz, I can't remember the details, but the did give me a new 120 a few days later when I returned with my cameye plug broken off in the port... peace lewhttp://www.exitshot.com
