BETO74 0 #1 October 17, 2003 Just got my QR 300. and I have couple questions. psw097 0 #3 October 17, 2003 Because I'm insane, drink a lot and like to play with fiberglass. I stuck a couple pictures of what I've done. I have not had trouble or heard of trouble with the stroboframe, just wanted to build something.
teamhypoxia 0 #4 October 17, 2003 I have had some problem with the cork plate on the stroboframe. Granted, it's been a couple of years now, and the problem is between the cork and the stroboframe plate rather than the cork and the camera but I think I'll get an anti-twist plate when I set up my new helmet
Deuce 1 #5 October 17, 2003 Then quick release is plenty. I've had a couple of impacts with it with no problems. I like the anti-twist plate. I will remount one of my QR bases so I can use it on my other helmet.
BETO74 0 #6 October 18, 2003 I see you did the release cable too, uh Nice,I Don't have that talent looks like you could design a pretty good camera helmet on your own.http://web.mac.com/ac057a/iWeb/AC057A/H0M3.html
BETO74 0 #7 October 18, 2003 I think I'll be using it without the anti twist for a litle bit, since is not major problem, Are you guys sure the the stroboframe is more than enough? just making sure . Thanks a lot for helping, I'll be posting pictures of everything I have done to get this helme done, and everything was done with this forums help. Thanks a lot again.http://web.mac.com/ac057a/iWeb/AC057A/H0M3.html
teamhypoxia 0 #8 October 20, 2003 QuoteAre you guys sure the the stroboframe is more than enough? In all the years I've used it, I haven't had a problem. I've also seen several setups using just the stroboframe and no additional straps. I guess the variable here would be the female threads on your camera. If those were to strip out, or if the threaded portion were to become detatched from the camera, then obviously you would have a problem. If you're not completely secure with the setup as is, throw another strap on it. It couldn't hurt could it?

My thoughts on the matter are that if something were to hit your camera hard enough to break the bracket, you'd probably -really- want it to separate from your helmet rather than still be attached by some bungie cord.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
BETO74 0 #10 October 20, 2003 True, or if something hits the camera hard enough without the anti twist it allows some motion and absortion of the impact. Thanks I'm very thankful, any of you in the nationals? I was there Sunday I got to see some interesting set uphttp://web.mac.com/ac057a/iWeb/AC057A/H0M3.html
