ltdiver 3 #1 October 16, 2003 So, I asked the salesman at CompUSA last month about the ability to upload pictures from a digital camera to an iPod. He said it wasn't able to do that (yet). Well!!!! Apple finally did it! NOW you can upload your CF card to a portable HD (and not spend the $$ on a new laptop). Then upload to your home computer when you get home! iPod Media Reader ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

murrays 0 #6 October 17, 2003 Lori, You bought a 3rd gen iPod didn't you? Lucky you! I'll have to wait for upgrade time...which is a very long time away right now.-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
ltdiver 3 #7 October 17, 2003 Not to mention the beautiful feature of practically unlimited music to listen to along the way! Isn't life grand! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
murrays 0 #8 October 17, 2003 Lori, Have you (or anybody else) used the iTunes Music Store yet? (I can't because it isn't yet available in Canada) I spent a bunch of time last night browsing the store and listening to the 30 second samples. I am sure that I will spend way too much money on tunes when it is available up here. The new "celebrity playlists" are quite interesting. Dave Brubeck, Herbie Hancock and Billy Corgan's were my favourites. FrancoR 0 #9 October 17, 2003 Have a look at the Jukebox Multimedia Products from Archos http://archos.com/. A lot of them have card readers available for them to read different types of memory cards. Advantages? It can show you the pics on a color display, plays certain Videos, can work as a VCR and if the hard disk is to small for your needs, just exchange it for a bigger one (or have it exchanged). But i will agree that the iPod looks a lot better. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
ltdiver 3 #10 October 17, 2003 Murray, I have not downloaded music yet, but like you have browsed and liked very much what I've been able to find. I do know someone who has downloaded music and he loves it. No problems that he's mentioned. What is it about Canada that has Apple unable to fufill your creative need? ltdiver 3 #11 October 17, 2003 Very very nice! They'll give Apple a run for their money in your country! However.....can it sync with iTune's Music Store? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
murrays 0 #12 October 17, 2003 Quote Murray, What is it about Canada that has Apple unable to fufill your creative need? Lori Apple has to work out separate licensing agreements in every country....so we are waiting for that to happen. I was hoping that might have been announced yesterday but no such luck. Will just have to wait a while longer.-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
FrancoR 0 #13 October 17, 2003 Quote Very very nice! They'll give Apple a run for their money in your country! Why only in my country? Archos Products are sold in nearly every country. I have a jukebox studio 20 pretty good value for money. Quote However.....can it sync with iTune's Music Store? ltdiver I don't think so. The Archos devices all work like a exchangable hard drive, you plug it into your computer and you got an additional Harddisk. They do ship Musicmatch Jukebox with some of their devices, but i have never used it.If it does not cost anything you are the product.
