JayhawkJumper 0 #1 October 15, 2003 I was wondering if anyone has jumped both helmets and can give an opinion on them. Do you feel a difference flying the narrow vs. the pro or is the platform size the only difference you would find.
Miami 0 #2 October 15, 2003 I jump both currently (personal setup is a narrow, work set up is a pro). There isn't very much difference other than the platform size. The narrow is about a half pound lighter with identical setups. I do like the smaller profile of the narrow (the platform width anyway) because I use my personal setup out of a 206, while the pro I use out of a twotter. As far as flying goes I notice no difference, they both seem to fly the same. Hope this helps!Miami
quade 4 #3 October 15, 2003 For the $50 difference between the two helmets I think the Flat-Top Pro might make a slightly better long term investment as the Narrow could be somewhat limiting.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
lewmonst 0 #4 October 15, 2003 Depends on what you want to shoot and how you want to set up your cameras... I have a narrow, which is nice, i wanted it for the lighter weight. But after some thought about my set-up, Video on top, stills on Front, I think it might have been better to put stills vertically mounted side by side on top, in which case I think my narrow is too narrow for that and would create snag points if I hung part of each camera over the edge of the platform. Also, if you start to consider using a flash, you'll need room for it. peacehttp://www.exitshot.com

Exactly, plus if you like to change setups often (I do) the Pro comes with a changeable top, while the narow is fixed. When you have drilled so many holes in the Pro's top that it looks like swiss cheese, you can just replace it.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. aerialcameraman 0 #6 October 16, 2003 They both are by far the most comfrotable helment i have ever had a camera on. The main differance is do you want to fly two cameras or one on top. For tandem flying one camera is enough, but if shooting 4-way at a national level then two cameras would be sufficent. Each one has one of the best escapes on them too. No other helment has this escape feature that i believe is a nessecity for camera flying. Main point due some research first from the internet and talking with people whom have done it for a while but only take advise make your own mind up.
