Well think of it this way. Every day that cypres is burning it's life up. In a year it will be that much closer to be not worth anything and you basically threw away money buying it while it sat on a shelf loosing value.
Fly it like you stole it!

Don't plan on buying something to use in 3 months, 6 months or even a year. Sure the guys at your DZ will let you use stuff for now but what happens if you want to go to a boogie or travel to other DZ's? Are they going to just give you a container and say here you go or are you now going to be stuck at one dz? If the loaner gear does'nt fit properly its not worth jumping. Plus you'll want to jump your own gear soon since waiting half a day on Billy Bob to show up with the loaner rig really sucks.

I've got 465 jumps and just got to the wingloading you are looking at on the 135. Take it slow, spend 100-200 jumps at a 1:1 loading before going smaller... take your time to down size and be safe.

In terms of if they are good deals that depends a lot on how well they fit you, if you have to go an drop money into resizing the harness they become less of a deal.

Just a quick search of the classifieds turned up a few rigs that are under $2000 and are what you should be looking for:

Javelin container J-3 black w/pink poptop , 175 Swift Plus reserve with 2 jumps on it, 150 Sabre with less then 100 jumps purple. $1,800.00

Sabre 150PD manuf. Dec 93 about 190 jumps/96 Racer Elite container 30 jumps/96 Tempo 150 Reserve never used/Cypres AAD 7/96 4 year servicing was done. $ 1600.00

Javelin J-3, Sabre 170, Swift 172 $1000

vector 3 sabre 150, 25 jumps raven 150, 1 jump altimaster 3 pro dyter $2,200

These are all screamin' good deals.

Don't rely on anyone else to let you use their gear. Buy something now that you can survive landing, every time, regardless of conditions. You'll jump a lot more often and be able to fly the same canopy every time - both of which are very important at your experience level.

If you grab one of the deals phreezone found, you won't "lose" a cent when you're ready to downsize. Looks like any of those containers will easily take one size smaller main so you can do your first downsize with the same container/reserve/Cypres. Plan on doing 300+ jumps on your first container - by then you'll also have the advantage of knowing a whole lot more about what gear is right for you.

Well think it this way:you could sell the cypress, and by a new one when you can jump in the gear.I do at this time were im grounded for some time. The only thing in the rig which is eating up mony is the cypress,so sell it.theres, atleast in DK,a way to see how much its worth. So you could buy a similar when you can use it.

However,i dont think you should buy gear that you can jump out in the future. What if you find out that, its not that gear you need/want at that time?

Theres alot of good offers all the time, and sure also when you should need it.

Wait would be my advise

Stay safe
