Scotchguard a jump suit?

Recommended Posts

I just ordered a new freefly suit. I know the benefits of scotchguarding a rig, but I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be ok to do the same to a jumpsuit? Want to make clean up of that occasional plf a little easier. Just not sure if it would make it "wind proof" so that it doesn't slow me down as much, or if it would make it stiffen up.

I have heard of some folks scotchguarding their suits with no problems. I would definitely test a smallpatch on the suit before you try the whole thing. I don't think it would make it any stiffer. Try a small patch and see how it works. The cans of scotch guard do say that it works on fabrics. I was actually thinking of doing the sa,e thing.
Let's both do it and compare notes :)

I have scotchguarded every suit I have ever had.. Really I have only had two but it works wonders and really makes a difference, because I have a white one and our laning area is almost considered wetlands. But you still have to wash it that night or as soon as you can.. also use some type of presoak before washing along with the guard and you can get anything out, Almost..

. It will not affect you material in any way as far as the amount of drag and stuff.. I really suggest you use it especially on the legs and but for they are the most dirt accesable areas...
