I'm not sure if this is hijacking a thread, but what is on the horizon digitally in the near future for Cannon or Nikon Digital SLRs??

Already the resolution, lattitude and colorimetry are fine for just about everything up to and including most high-gloss mags.

I think a lot of folks would be interested in a "full size" 35mm equivalent chip in the $2000 range that could also shoot at least 3fps.

WAY out there I'd like to see a -video- camera shooting an ultra high-def format that you could take 8x10 stills off of. Current, top of the line HDTV 1080p stuff doesn't -quite- measure up to the task, but I can foresee a time when something better comes along.

so have you heard anything specifically about a full size sensor coming out so we don't have to keep doing the conversions and loosing the capabilities of the wider lenses?
ie... I'm thinking about picking up a full frame fisheye (for Nikon 35mm) eventually and would really like to see the day that i could get a digi SLR that would take advantage of it. and not turn the 16 into a 25...

See THIS REVIEW of the Canon EOS-1Ds.
Unfortunately for us, it's not really a good skydiving camera due to size & weight issues -- oh, and that little price issue of about $8000.
So, for us, figure a couple or three years and that's the sort of thing we'll be seeing in the price range we're currently talking about for the 10D.
