mushroom 0 #1 March 10, 2003 i am thinking about doing some night fs camera work and was wondering if a very powerful toch (1.5 million candela) strapped to the top of my helmet would do the trick. i was also wondering at what point exactly does one switch the camera on.and where do to point it on climb out. exit will be from a porter from the standard camera man position.what would work best as far as lighting is concerned? do i switch the light off for landing or leave it on as my night vision is bound to be shot?[:)
mountainman 0 #2 March 10, 2003 If you are going to use a regular "white light", I think you are going to shoot the night vision of anyone who looks at it. From every night jump pretalk I've heard (3 or 4), they strongly reemphasize that there shouldn't be any lights like that since you'll lose a lot of your night vision. Good luck. http://www.brandonandlaura.com
Cajones 0 #3 March 10, 2003 1.5million candela??!?!! Ouch! My eyes! My eyes! Make it stop! OMG... Where's the ground? Lots of discusssion in the threads in the past. Do a search, and you'll find most of what you're looking for. The laws of physics are strictly enforced.
rjackson 0 #4 March 17, 2003 Although you wont see colors correctly you can use a small board of infrared led's. Most new cameras are very sensitive in the infrared. Cheap night vision. Randy--------------------------------------------- Randy
