Hooknswoop 19 #1 March 11, 2003 In a previous post, I said that Stunts had gone out of business. I have been informed I was wrong. Stunts no longer produces sport rigs, but still manufacturers the Eclipse tandem system. Sorry for my error. Hook
riggerrob 643 #2 March 11, 2003 Two years ago, Bill Dause purchased all the assests of Stunts Adventure Equipment Limited. Since then. patterns for all the Eclipse models have been gathering dust in Lodi. Last year Bill Dause told me that he was not planing to open the Eclipse production line. Last month, Master Rigger Pete Swan told me that those patterns were still collecting dust. The only other angle I have heard of was (Eclipse designer) Shooby Knutson opening a shop to manufacture replacement handles, deployment bags, etc.
andy2 0 #3 May 8, 2003 sorry for bumping this oldish post, but I was curious as the status of stunts adventure equipment. I have my eye on a used eclipse rig, and wondered whether or not I could get support for it still? Thanks! --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
SkymonkeyONE 4 #4 May 8, 2003 Well, as someone who has "several" Eclipse tandem jumps, I am just glad that there are ways to get parts, etc. We ended up with two ex-GK Eclipses on the USASOC team, plus Pete Markow has one, so we use them as backup out here. I think of them as a "better Vector 2 with an Icarus main." Chuck

Does anyone know the replacement part web site (if it's still up), or the contact information for getting replacement parts? Thanks...ChutingStar.com

Some parts should be available from Lodi but I'm not sure what parts. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... In my opinion they are the most comfortable rigs ever made. I also own an infinity. In the past I have jumped javelins, vectors, racers, dolphins, etc. I would not hesitate to get a used Eclipse if it is in good condition. You may not get any direct support from the manufacturer but parts are still availble from a few sources. Besides that parts from other rigs can work just fine in an eclipse. For instance I have a Naro reserve pilot chute in one of my eclipses, the main bag is from an infinity. Many other parts are interchangeable with other containers. Any Master rigger can work on them, the reserve container is very similar to the vector 2. Ralph in Oregon is also a good sourse for parts if you need them. He pretty much has parts for anything. Shooby, the designer, figured out "fit" in a way that nobody else has duplicated. I have jumped many different rigs, but the Eclipse is by far the comfort leader. Too bad they are out of production.
