Craig 0 #2 October 24, 2002 What's up with that poll?? I do not thing the US 101's can playback PAL. My box says "For NTSC System" I don't know of any settings in the camera that will allow it either.

FeFe 0 #4 October 24, 2002 Neither an owner nor purchaser, though have some experience (with a top US team bringing an NTSC cam to a European comp despite FAI rules ). NO, you won't be able to playback on PAL TVset (until it has multy-system support... most of modern European sets has this feature... if not you can plug your cam to a multy-sys videorecorder which may work as a de-coder). Interestingly enough, if you fire-wire your NTSC miniDV to a PAL miniDV, you will be able to copy your NTSC material (you also can play out NTSC video on a PAL miniDV). But even recorded by a PAL cam, video will appear to be recorded in NTSC! Looks like you can get a cam cheaper in the States, but is it worth all the trouble with playback/exchange? Doubt it.
