AndyMan 7 #1 July 19, 2002 One question.... what the hell do you do with the hand strap? I cant' figure out how the damn thing comes off.... do people just leave it on? _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Deuce 1 #3 July 19, 2002 Yeah, cut it off and unscrew the bayonet hand-swivelly thing. No way around it I could find. JP (PC 110)
AndyMan 7 #4 July 20, 2002 Taking off the bayonette swivel thingie sorta leaves a bit of a hole in the tape cover.... Did you just leave it like that? I can cover it with tape, but anything else I should do? _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
Deuce 1 #5 July 22, 2002 There's that bar that the strap used to hook to in there. I didn't do anything to mine, but it's in a D-box. I don't use any gaffers tape on my camera, but that would be a great excuse to. I know guys who tape the lens, battery, zoom switch, like just about everything. If you can't fix it, duc' it! AndyMan 7 #6 July 22, 2002 Yeah, I haven't been able to bring myself to cut it off my brand new camera. I think I'll just tape it somewhere, if I can. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
wildblue 7 #7 July 23, 2002 I saw one guy (cool idea, wish I thought of it) take the screw out of that little arm, then use it to fasten the whole strap to the helemt (just had it mounted on "L" bracket. Don't lose your hand strap, and another attachment point for the camerait's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality
skymedic 0 #8 July 24, 2002 dont you void the warranty if you cut the strap off? that's what I was told by a sony rep at there outlet store by us in chicago....cause I asked the same thing...something about if you drop it and break it...it's your fault..blah blah blah...I dont know....but this is what I was told... Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....
AndyMan 7 #9 July 24, 2002 Just out of curiosity I emailed sony, and they recomended me taking it an authorized repair facility, and have them remove the strap so I don't void the waranty. Which isn't a problem, since I bought a third party waranty anyways. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
