ixlr82 7 #1 February 25, 2003 I am looking at possibly purchasing detachable booties. I've never had booties and would like some input on how well they work compared to regular built-in ones. The cost is around $60.00 plus shipping. I'm a recreational jumper with a jumpsuit (no booties) that should give me a couple seasons more. Why do I want to try booties? Just curious to see how they work and if I like the way I fly with them. __________________________________________
weid14 0 #2 February 25, 2003 how do they attach and detach?
darkwing 5 #3 February 25, 2003 I have seen them a couple of times, and the owners were pleased with them. I don't remember any details though. You might also consider a permanent retro-fit as opposed to detachables. If I don't want my booties on I just fold them inside the leg and rubber-band them. -- Jeff My Skydiving History
ixlr82 7 #4 February 26, 2003 There is a picture of them at www.pineapplexp.com I don't know for sure how they attach. That is one of my concerns. Who does permanent retrofits? Cost? http://www.pineapplexp.com __________________________________________

rigging65 0 #7 February 26, 2003 We make a retro-fit kit for our suits here at Flite Suit Company. They're called Bootie Zips. They are held in place with two long zippers and a securing tab at the top. The proto-types that we built were very secure and flew just like they were built-in. We've had some requests over the years for this sort of thing and decided to give them a shot. They work, what else can I say? "...and once you had tasted flight, you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward. For there you have been, and there you long to return..." weid14 0 #8 February 26, 2003 your suit maker can do a permanent bootie, the detachable ones look like they will work to a degree, but you won't get the same benefit as a full-on bootie (on that goes all the way up to the knee)
