airdrew20012001 0 #1 January 29, 2002 What do people think about these? I talked to one guy who showed me how his worked and it looked like you could open the box and take the camera out, ie the camera is not screwed down. Does this cause shake? Gravitymaster 0 #2 January 30, 2002 I've never had that problem. Make sure you use the foam padding that comes with it. I also added some additional padding. As long as you close it tightly you shouldn't have the problem. Next helmet I buy is going to be a top mount for both my video and stills because I worry about a riser strike and/or entanglement. WmLauterbach 0 #3 January 30, 2002 I have about 250 jumps with a bonehead d-box using a SONY trv-11 and trv-17 camera. There are a few pros and cons I have found... If the pads are cut right, and the strap is tight, there is no camera shake....Pro'sNo need to screw the camera to the helmet.Easy to remove/replaceVery secureYou dont get any 'digital dropout' from the wind blast during the exitCon'sYou can not use the 'fader' button unless you drill a hole in the box.If the pads arent cut right, even the slightest bump to the top cover will activate the 'zoom'You cant use the viewfinder unless you cut a hole in the top cover. If you are shooting at night and using super night shot, the box will block the IR source.remember, this is with a trv style camera, a pc style box is a bit different

airdrew20012001 0 #6 January 30, 2002 makes sense, I use a bonehead batrack with the video and still mounted side by side, works for tandems, rw, free fly, what have you.
