Danne 0 #1 February 21, 2003 I have a two customers that have problems with consistantly hard openings (BT-60 & Sabre 150, surprised?). I have checked their packing methods and found nothing wrong. Next step I was thinking about is installing a slider-pocket for them. I have never done this before but seen quite a few different methods on how to do this. My question is, what method would you guys recommend? I would be really happy if you also could include a picture and a description on how its done the best way. Thanx, /D
bwilling 0 #2 February 21, 2003 I bought a used Sabre that has a pocketed slider on it... I've attached a not so good picture of it that I just happened to have handy... It's quite effective at slowing down the openings... this thing snivels a long time before it opens, so long in fact, that I had a video guy on a 4 way jump once tell me that he was sure that he was going to see a cutaway from the air watching my opening! rigging65 0 #3 February 21, 2003 We've done a bunch of pocket sliders over the years, they're not too hard to make and they can certainly help. Unfortunately, there is no real solid spec. on them, but I threw together some VERY approximate measurements for you on this .jpg. I hope you can see it clearly enough. The "Square" side is actually what attaches to the slider (leading edge, DOWNWIND side). The "flared" edge is attached about 1/2 inch back from the "leading" edge of the "square" side. Bind the inside seams and lay a single needle line down the middle to for 2 cells. Be sure to reinforce all your joints with bartacks or zigzags. If you run into problems, PM me and leave me a number and I'll give you a call. ryan "...and once you had tasted flight, you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward.
