I'm a long time visitor, first time poster, so I guess I should introduce myself...My names Jon, I got into the sport on my 18th birthday a little over a year ago. I spent all my money skydiving (oops) and found myself broke, with only enough money to stay current really. finished a year and a half of college, and have taken this semester off to go make some money so i can finish college (or skydive, whichever). But anyways, with this new lifestyle of actually making money...I've started to put together my skydiving rig, slowly but surely, and I have learned a lot from these forums. But to my real question. I just purchased my first jumpsuit about 4 weeks ago, it's a pit special tony suit, and it just came in today. I've never jumped booties, but i figured i would soon so it has mega booties. When I put the suit on, its tight...like, really tight. Which is what I want, because i weigh 160 and am 6"1, but I think its too tight. I cant put my booties on without unzipping the suit and pulling it down, and when I do get them on I find it really hard to arch correctly. I laid in the floor and I can hardly arch at all, and i have very limited motion in bringing my feet in or pushing them out as if I was tracking. Also If i try to make a 90 degree angle at my elbow, I cant.I measured everything several times to make sure it was correct, and i even measured with baggy clothes on to get a little looser fit, but its still really tight. I don't think I will have any problem returning the suit and getting it altered based on the reviews I've read, but is that necessary or is it normal for the suit to be that tight with booties? And will it fit a little differently maybe when I put a rig on, although I think that would make it fit tighter if anything. Thanks ahead of time! NWFlyer 2 #2 February 6, 2011 Not being able to arch and not being able to comfortably move your arms & legs are probably not a good thing. As for the tightness of the booties - booties should fit tight, but it's possible they're too tight. Your profile says you jump at the Farm - I'd recommend getting in to Chuting Star with the jumpsuit and your rig and your winter level of clothing (e.g., the most you would wear) and having Mike take a look at it and give you some thoughts on whether/where it might make sense to take it out. Mike's done a lot of RW and has sold a lot of suits, so having someone who is experienced with what to look for will be your best bet at this point, rather than having us try to diagnose it over the internet. Tony Suits will definitely take care of you, but make sure you know what to ask for so you can minimize the number of trips the jumpsuit has to make back and forth to Florida to get it right. Getting a suit right the first time can be a challenge, so it may just be that your suit needs a bit of tweaking to be perfect. I had my current jumpsuit measured by the owner of the jumpsuit manufacturer and I still said "Did you make this for someone 2 inches shorter than me with a tiny neck?" when I first tried it on. JbMackin 0 #4 February 6, 2011 I had a friend take the measurements, and they were taken 2-3 times each. And as for the farm, I did start out there but have recently moved out of state for work. I will be home for several days over the next week, so maybe I could make a trip back and talk to Mike...I think that would probably be my best bet, as you said...I'm ready to jump this thing! faulknerwn 38 #5 February 7, 2011 Ah - its important to always have an experienced jumpsuit measurer (usually found at the dropzone) fit you up. A friend had a local tailor measure him and sent the form into the jumpsuit manufacturer. They called him up and said no way those numbers are right.
