BMFin 0 #1 February 12, 2003 I just ordered a new G4 . I had made the design in mirage website and it looked good in the monitor, but after I posted the order to my dealer the next night I had a nightmare : the colors were too much different to what it looked on the screen. In the morning I called my Dealer who was 10 minutes away from sending the order to Mirage and had a talk to him. He suggested me that he would post me a color-map of all the colors. I got the color-map the next day and I was really happy that we hadent made the order yet. The colors really look different in the monitor than in real-life. Lesson learned: If you are about to order a container (especially if its your 1st ) be aware that the colors in the websites differ a lot in real-life. Thats all... -Ville-

Same goes for canopy color programs. Every monitor shows colors differently. Every website uses a different program designed by a different person, one of whom may think one RGB number matches "purple" while another thinks a different RGB number matches the same shade. Website coloring/ordering programs are a convenience; if you are worried about the actual colors get ahold of fabric samples to be sure that what they call "orange" is the "international orange" shade you really want. When I placed my order for my Inifinity, I used the web program. However, when I went to go get measured by my dealer, I showed her the printouts of my colors and then we looked at some rigs that she had with the same colors, and my choices (the printouts) were totally ugly when matched up to the real fabric! So with her help and actually having the fabric colors in front of me, I think I made a much better choice. Remember, looking good is important!! - Matt Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Kris 0 #4 February 12, 2003 Also keep in mind that the colors you get still may not match the color on the fabric samples. The colors can change a bit from one bolt of fabric to the next. This is also why it is important to send your rig / canopy back immediately if it wasn't created properly. If they have to replace a section there's a higher chance they'll have an exact color match still in stock. ptwob231 0 #5 February 12, 2003 or if you're like me and are too impatient to wait for a color swatch from the manufacturer you can sift through pics on the internet of rigs and check out those color combos...thats how i came up with my infinity...vse's website and the pd factory team website to figure out what my colors (navy, silver, and gold) really looked like...i'll let you know what it looks like when i get it:)
tobi778 0 #6 February 13, 2003 Guess I just got lucky! I ordered my Wings container based on the web color program and I must say I had many second thougths about it. When the rig arrived I was however very surprised to see that the color choise I made was even better than I had ever imagined!!! SRI did a great job with it, thank you!! As for my canopy colors, I had the oppertunity to look at som photographs of other canopies made by PD, so it was a little bit easier. Very pleased with the colors of the canopy as well! Can't wait till the weather gets good enough to jump the beast!
