Jumping my reig for the 1st time

Recommended Posts

Well I should be jumping my rig this weekend, A friend at the DZ who is not jumping at present has agreed to let me jump her Electra 170 for a few weeks until my 150 Hornet gets here.
I bought a cypress today and have given it all to my packer.
So this weekend I hopefully will be doing my conversion jumps :)Any one want to give me any feedback on the Electra???

Is this a beer jump if it's not my canopy, seriously, B|

I have two jumps on an Electra170, so I don't have much feedback to give. As I recall, it opened nice, flew ok, and was surprisingly swoopy for a canopy that size. Good thing you get to jump a transition canopy before the 150.

It's your rig isn't it? It's the first jump on that rig right? BEERB|!

Never jumped the electra myself, but was told by a guy who had demoed it that it was very responsive. From what he said the 170 electra probably will fly just as aggressive as your hornet 150.

Post a comparison when you've jumped both. I would like to know how it compares to the Hornet.

There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

It's a nice canopy, do not, of course, attempt to see how swoopy it is if you'll only be jumping it few times, but it has a somewhat shorter toggle range than otherwise comparable PD chutes. It is *totally* possible to spin it up when pumping the brakes after opening if you pump to hip level (personal experience speaking here:o). The stall point may well be a little below or even around shoulder height!
Johan.
I am. I think.
