rehmwa 2 #3 April 28, 2006 QuotePerhaps you should move to Eloy Or Texas? You people keep trying to get me to move to year round DZs. I don't think I can afford it. AMax 0 #4 April 28, 2006 Quote Or Texas? Good luck with that We already had 5 2-day camps and only got 5 jumpable days. Lots of rain, clouds and wind. The good news it will soon change to nice blue skies and 100 degrees on the ground Edit to add: I used to think about moving to Boston or NYC. Not anymore ... lol. The good news it will soon change to nice blue skies and 100 degrees on the ground Sounds like Minnesota - only add in 99% humidity. Isn't it great to have a sport requiring a full body outfit? Skydivers have the stupidist tan lines. And I'll take a 50% success rate on jumpable days in April and May. Only two practice weekends until our first meet. 3 guys have never done slot switchers, one guy doesn't even know the dive pool and continuity plan. I want them to 'see' each block at least. I don't like just hitting the 4 or 5 basic block types and 'hoping' that the learning translates for them to all the blocks they don't see until meet day. Only one of them thinks in that way, the other 2 really need to do the specific block a couple times to really 'get' the gist of it and then only if .... It's certainly my preference, too. ... AMax 0 #6 April 28, 2006 Sounds like lots of creeping will be very useful ... and there is no excuse for not knowing the dive pool. It drives me nuts when people say they "really want to do good" but don't bother to learn the pool.
Samurai136 0 #7 April 28, 2006 I've done pretty well only knowing "E is Meeker." Only recently learned "O".Then I heard Ron's voice in my head, "You should really know the dive pool..." That was last season's pre-season tunnel camp. So... Last weekend I learned all the randoms in a day or so. Maybe I'll learn all the blocks tonight... Maybe it won't rain tomorrow... Samurai136 0 #9 April 28, 2006 UPS just pulled up and delivered a package! Wish number one is granted.... I suppose I'd better learn those blocks... We could have jumpable weather tomorrow. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

rehmwa 2 #14 May 8, 2006 Better weather, finally. Showed them the whole divepool - (twelve 5-point dives). That means 6 dives with b slots for the point piece and 2 dives for the b slots for the tail piece. Everything A plan and no swings or fixes allowed to make the b's happen. There's some work to be done, but now everybody knows what they are getting into...... scary and fun ...
