At the time, it was a world record... but it is also the largest done in the US... which would make it the US record too.

If you are looking for the largest formation with only US citizens... I have no idea...

sorry - mean big way record formation by US nationals/citizens, not the record set on the US territory

Hell, at a lot of DZs, you can't get bigger than about a 4-way without running into somone from another country... I've got an old Army recruiting poster of the GKs doing a 60-ish way (i'll have to find it tonight and count)... my guess would be that its not much bigger than that.
