rehmwa 2 #1 July 26, 2004 We've been doing 4-way as a team almost every weekend this summer. Real "dream deal" for me. Last weekend, our IC and his wife had their baby so we took a weekend (or maybe two) off. So, I chased a couple tandems, did a half dozen freefly jumps, took up newbies for coaching and mantis intros, did throw together RW with various people at various levels, flew 4-way in other slots than my own. Were the jumps as fantastic - no Would I still prefer 4way with my normal group - yes Was it a great weekend and a real good thing to do -absolutely, what a great time. And got to play a lot harder Saturday night, sleep in, etc. One downside - way too many Margueritas to really enjoy the Northern Lights like I'd have liked to. Gotta remember to do this once in a while and not just big ways at boogies either. Highly recommended for the obsessive 4-way nuts. ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants
curtismelaniej 0 #2 July 28, 2004 I absolutely, positively 100% agree!! I shot video for a 4-way team this weekend-- something I've never done before, but have been dying to learn-- some of the most fun I've had all year! Not that 4-way isn't my ultimate passion, but doing something different for a change really revitalizes you. Good stuff! __________________________________________________________ http://www.skydiveelsinore.com/teams/EXCEL/basic_camp.html
skyminxx 0 #3 July 28, 2004 I completely agree Rehm All my jumping money goes on training with the team and I forget how good it feels to goof off once in a while. Dont get me wrong, my team is pretty goofy and smiles a lot but there is still an element of focus that is reserved for training. I spent a weekend at Cross Keys recently and even though I really didnt jump much, the jumps I did make were with some friends from the dz that I learned at. It was a wonderful way to reconnect with some fabulous folks that I never get to play with. It was awesome to just hang out, chat with my buddies and see some faces that I miss across from me in a skydive. You are led through your lifetime by the inner learning creature, the playful spiritual being that is your real self.-Richard Bach
