Video at Nationals - Anyone need a camera guy??

Recommended Posts

Anyone know of a team looking for a vieo guy for nationals. I wanted to get on the dz.com team but someone offered first. I am still very interested in going. If anyone knows a team have them get a hold of me of PM me their details and I will contact them. Thanks all. Also, if anyone is interested in putting a team together and going, I could be the video slot taken care of.

It's nice to be connected and have something 'in writing' before hooking up with an unknown team. However, if you just arrive and show up at the DZ I'm sure you'll get picked up within the first hour. For some reason there are always teams who forget that Nat'l's don't have a video pool anymore. Teams have to bring there own cameraflyer.

There seems to be a camera shortage again this year, so if you're an experienced team flyer you'll be used. :^)

Oopsss. Just clicked on your profile and saw "CSPA". You're talking about Canada's Nationals. :$ Sorry.

And if for some reason you did mean USA's Nationals, you'll have to inform your team they'll be flying as a 'guest' team (ineligible for medals) since you're not an U.S. citizen. The cameraflyer is part of the team now.

Actually i was talking about US nationals. I was not aware that teh camera guy had to be from US.

~Chachi

Yep. You do. Plus be a member of USPA.

Like I mentioned, if the team who picks you up doesn't mind being listed at 'guest' then you're invited (just get a membership from USPA).

In fact, I spoke to a team from Colorado this weekend about you. (they were out training at Perris from Mile High). They did not have a cameraflyer. If they're interested, they know they can find this thread here and PM you.

Good luck,

I'm really quite shocked at this. Where is this requirement documented?

It's "Guest competitors and", not 'or'. You're a guest, no matter how you slice it. Sorry. Read section "D" again.

Thanks quade for posting the Comp. Manual for chachi.

Actually, the SCM clearly states that a US Citizen or Resident Alien carrying an INS registration card - or even someone granted temporary residency on thier passport (an I-551 stamp) can compete.

It's quite clear. . .

That makes a whole lot more sense.

Here's the actual text: "Competitors who are not U.S. citizens must posess a Resident Alien Card U.S. INS Card I-551, or an L-551 temporary stamp in their passport. "

How do compeditors prove their citizenship?

Good question. . .

Passport or DL and Soc Sec Card are usually sufficient enough to prove citizenship or Alien Registration status. . .as far as I know. . .don't know what they are going to be looking for during registration for the nationals though. . .

The last few years I've competed it was your U.S. driver's license that had to be shown during registration.

Besides, if a team has a foreigner in its ranks pretty much everyone knows about it. This is a small community and word gets around. People better play straight or they'll get a untrustworthy reputation which will tarnish they're ability to compete again.
