mischo 0 #1 July 15, 2004 Hello, I frequent a King Air dropzone, but all of the competitions are out of twin otters, does anyone know off hand, the dimensions of the door i.e. hieght length. I would like to build a crude mock up at the DZ to practice exits. Odd question, I know, but if you happen to have a Twin Otter in the back yard let me know Mish
rehmwa 2 #2 July 15, 2004 You can likely look it up somewhere on the net. I'll to get dimensions this weekend. Try to get a regional meet at your DZ. Our first year we were sponsored at a King Air DZ and we had all the advantage for exits from that narrow KA door. Most can work fine but you need to be creative and find ways to make exits work with 3 out and 1 in (Unless your point and IC are very small). We surprised Kurt Gaebel on a couple exits when he coached and judged one of our meets. ... darkwing 5 #4 July 15, 2004 Our first year of competition we had a King Air at our home DZ. We were pretty successful in practice at launching the first piece. Going to competitions and jumping the Otter made things seem very roomy. -- Jeff My Skydiving History
