rehmwa 2 #1 May 17, 2004 Did you guys see the weekend scores? When I saw the draw friday night I was hoping Majik was competing. They must have really turned it on. I was hoping that draw would bring the 'unofficial' world record back home to the US, but I can't wait to see the vid. They must have been cooking. Lots of teams competing this weekend, can't wait to see the full rollup. We really tanked in our performance, simple stuff and camera work accounts for more than another point in our team average, but I see now what I need to do. In fact, our slowest draw was one of our highest scoring rounds just because we stayed precise. Just keep learning (precision first, then power and speed) ... NeedToJump 0 #2 May 17, 2004 Yeah I saw the video, it was an incredible skydive. The amazing thing about it is it looked much cleaner than the 42 point world record. Every point was static and presented. Majik also got a 25.5 point average for the 6 round meet. DAMN! Our team (Down To Earth) had our first training camp this past weekend and competed at the FSL to see where we are starting. We posted an 11.4 with some not so clean skydiving... but we're all looking forward to a good season. Bill, what's your team and how was the weekend with Chromy?Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
rehmwa 2 #3 May 17, 2004 We're Fast FWD (AA) in the NPSL. I'm rebuilding this year (AGAIN). We got a 43, BUT - That's with a lost exit in round 1 (my fault), a lousy round 2 (an 8 but we were hoping a 12 minimum) and some mediocre end work in some of the random work later. I think we're starting at just over a 8 potential though and I'm happy there. And we had 2 busts as our cameraman is still peeling off instead of leaving above so the hill transitions are always hard to see unless we get slower (right). So lots of low hanging fruit to gather. I was hoping to start around an 8, so I'm upset, but lots of good things to work with anyway. That's with only 6 practice jumps the week before and zero otter exits prior to the meet. I'm hoping for strong learning ramp. Chromy was great. He's very direct and really has set us up for the next meet. Some things you just can't coach with a teammate (especially new teammates) that an outside pro can do. I am very happy he made it. Eh? Plus, we just like him here in the NPSL meets. He's a good man and fantastic skydiver. Problem is, we don't get our Otter until one weekend before the next meet. That's only one practice weekend with Otter exits for us and our cameraman. This season will be over before we even get comfortable (only 4 meets scheduled and it doesn't look like we can travel during the middle) As far as Majik's 25.5, I'm pretty sure I'll be downloading that entire sequence as it becomes available. Sweet ... NeedToJump 0 #7 May 18, 2004 Actually Arlo, I think it's Solly who is about to break off into some booty flying... You can pause it right when they pose for the camera and see everyone's face through their helmet. It looks like Joey was flying OC and Gary was flying Point for the dive... I love how you can see that there are still things they can do to increase the speed. These guys are absolutely amazing! Go Majik!!Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

I also see the French had an "inofficial" (sic on NSL) record of 42. Majik's 41 wasn't in a national or FAI event. That makes them unoffical. Almost.... FX had the record with a 37 at the 99 Nationals...for like a day. Airspeed got it on the same round with a 39. Frances 42 was not a practice jump....It was a competition jump, but there were not enough FAI judges there to call it a record. When they did try to get the FAI to certify it there were some problems. I have been told they saw a bust. Which would make it a 40...However the offical meet score has already been posted as a 42. So you can't take the "offical" score off the board, and the FAI saw a bust...so they are having some problems certifying it. I don't think that Majics jump could be official since I don't think there was even one FAI judge present. Confused? Good, so am I.
