SkySlut 0 #1 January 31, 2003 I just picked up a another rig, Odyssey and it has velcro and the standard tuck tabs...every seen this???I am pretty happy about it, but I have never seen it or even thought about it. I would imagine that brake fires are going to be pretty difficult with this sort of configuration.
Rdutch 0 #2 January 31, 2003 Good idea, but the whole reason for getting rid of the Velcro is it eats your lines. Why not just use snaps? Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
SkySlut 0 #3 January 31, 2003 I just got Joey's rig and its got them. I am wondering if he had this done post manufacture or if he had Terry Pike do it...Those toggles are SOLID though. The way that it is done is quite impressive...there isnt too much velcro, but it does keep the toggle in place. The tuck tabs can tend to get weak as well...causing brake fires. I have had that happen before.
fudd 0 #4 January 31, 2003 Never seen it, but then again I haven't seen much. My rigger is doing something to my riser/toggles to make them more freefly friendly. It's something about adding some velcro and stuff. I'll try to post a pic of it if it seems relevant, But I won't get my rigg back for a couple of weeks still... SkydiveMonkey 0 #5 January 31, 2003 What's the toggles got to do with freeflying? You getting tuck tab riser covers?____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
nacmacfeegle 0 #6 February 3, 2003 "Why not just use snaps? " I'm not overly comfortable poking holes in my risers (did it a long time ago to fit PdF soft links), also as the snap has a grommet edge on both sides, they can present a snagging risk to your break lines. But hey, I'm all about choice... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. SkySlut 0 #7 February 3, 2003 Snaps can pose other problems as well...remember the Dolphin containers...if those snaps are bent or warped in any way...you are going to have a tough time getting them apart....nasty situation where ever you put them...
