Different reserves pack in different ways?

Recommended Posts

I think just like main canopies, reserve's have they're slight differences, they may require slightly different packing methods to maximize their potential to get you to the ground safe.

For example, if you pack an original sabre the same way you would pack a manta...you might be in for some hurt...it would most likely work fine, but survival of both the equipment and the operator are maxized if the packing method fits the canopy characteristics.

Edited to add: Make sure you take into account that I am just a noob after you read this post

By default you are not allowed to pro pack a Tempo since there are not instructions from the manufactor on how to do this. Granted, if you talk to PISA you can get them to write you a letter that will allow you to legally pro pack a Tempo. PD has an add on to thier manual on how to propack. Canopies like the original swift (5 cell) have a totally differnt method to pack them.

Its important to only pack the reserve accourding to the manufactors instrustions, its the only way the pack job is legal.

As far as i know, all reserves pack the same, the difference is how you put it in the freebag. well there is slight differences in packing tempo vs. PD, but mostly because you can put each canopy easier in the bag that way. But the basic packing is the same.
"George just lucky i guess!"
