As you can tell from some of the pics, Josh was still shooting as we tracked away. On one of the jumps, I started my track looked down and flew over Josh who was in a sit looking up at me! We had plenty of clearance, but it was still a surprise!

Great shots Josh. Thanks again for all the hard work.

Josh is the only guy I know who can get muddy while in the Otter.... ;) ;)

Blue skies,

Jim

It depends on the dive, their break off plan, if there are other video folks on the jump, how far below the formation I am, and the fall rate...

My preference is to be slightly above formation level as the first wave goes away, letting them track past/below me but I will also go with being below (low enough that they can see me and will not run me over), working my way back in to the center... when the base breaks, I will go to my belly and dump... the biggest hazard is when folks don't flat track and dive at you.

Well, since you have it on video you can use it at the debrief to suggest they work harder on their tracking skills.
...

The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

Unfortunately, here in Southeast Texas that is not always the case... lenses will sometimes fog up between 5 and 6K (and sometimes higher)... But it is talked about in the debrief, as are opening altitudes, not too high and not too low.

I dont jump camera, so this is not from personal experience. But it sounds like these guys are having success with this product. (Note I'm just trying to pass along seemingly useful information...)

Thanks, I've been involved in that thread, and am trying to find some of the stuff locally... I've already found several places on the net where I can get it...
