Cordura or Parapack

Recommended Posts

cordura, because i tend to get lazy, and if i don't feel like running out a landing if i have to, i'll just slide on my ass. so if i had parapack, it would scratch up, and look like hell, with cordura, i can just clean it up real quick, and it still looks good. and i don't think parapak looks very good.

I have had Cordura on all of my previous rigs up until I purchased a Parapack rig. I agree with all of the previous comments that cordura is more durable but the Parapack in my current rig looks very good after about 200+ jumps on it last year (purchased in April '02). I try to keep my gear in good shape and get between 250 and 300 jumps a year.
If you treat it well Parapack looks great but if you want to "abuse" your gear cordura will probably serve you better!

What is everyones rig made out of? why did you choose that way?

Cordura. Skybytch tells it well.

A parapac backpad and parapac on the inside of the leg pads is very nice.

I had a parapac rig and would never get another one made that way.

Just in case anyone was wondering, we use 1000 denier cordura on all our Wings, whether it's a student rig or sport rig.

Sure, 500 is less expensive but the 1000 will hold up better.

I don't like the look or feel of 500 myself, I'm glad we only use 1000.

Heather
