skygod7777 0 #3 January 18, 2003 cordura, because i tend to get lazy, and if i don't feel like running out a landing if i have to, i'll just slide on my ass. so if i had parapack, it would scratch up, and look like hell, with cordura, i can just clean it up real quick, and it still looks good. and i don't think parapak looks very good. later
skybytch 273 #4 January 18, 2003 Parapac looks sweet when it's new or very well cared for, but cordura stands up to abuse better. Some colors are much brighter in parapac too. Mine's cordura.
sdctlc 0 #5 January 18, 2003 I have had Cordura on all of my previous rigs up until I purchased a Parapack rig. I agree with all of the previous comments that cordura is more durable but the Parapack in my current rig looks very good after about 200+ jumps on it last year (purchased in April '02). I try to keep my gear in good shape and get between 250 and 300 jumps a year. If you treat it well Parapack looks great but if you want to "abuse" your gear cordura will probably serve you better! hookitt 1 #6 January 18, 2003 QuoteWhat is everyones rig made out of? why did you choose that way? Cordura. Skybytch tells it well. A parapac backpad and parapac on the inside of the leg pads is very nice. I had a parapac rig and would never get another one made that way. slotperfect 7 #7 January 18, 2003 I have always had Cordura as well. I prefer the "matte" finish of Cordura to the "shiny" apperance of Parapac. I agree that Cordura is more durable as well. John

riggerrob 644 #9 January 18, 2003 One of each. The current fashion is for 500 denier Cordura on sport rigs and 1000 denier Cordura on school rigs.
slotperfect 7 #10 January 18, 2003 From my experience, the 500 denier Cordura stays cleaner than the 1000 denier. John
HeatherB 0 #11 January 18, 2003 Just in case anyone was wondering, we use 1000 denier cordura on all our Wings, whether it's a student rig or sport rig. Sure, 500 is less expensive but the 1000 will hold up better. I don't like the look or feel of 500 myself, I'm glad we only use 1000. blue skies, Heather
