freeflyJoe 0 #1 February 12, 2009 Yeah, I did a search. My ? is how many jumps do u put on them before replacing em? And who else besides PD makes soft links? Thanks!
AggieDave 6 #2 February 13, 2009 Aerodyne makes a version, so does Precision. I like to replace mine when I replace a lineset, unless there is some sort of unusual wear to make me want to replace them sooner. They're cheap enough that I don't worry about replacing them. If I start to get odd melt/burn marks on the outside of the slinks from the slider grommet, I'll typically replace them (even if its before a new lineset).--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." frost 1 #4 February 14, 2009 yeah, what the smart man said. Replace with lineset or sooner if needed. I also examine my slinks every weekend when jumping, especially with RDS and steering line mods (if you have that). And after some incident that involved worn out slinks i feel that it's a small but vital piece of our gear, that deserves a bit of extra attention. freeflyJoe 0 #5 February 14, 2009 Yeah, that's what I'm doing. I was sending my canopy in for a re-line and just realized how old my slinks are. So I thought I'd ask on here. I probably should have replaced them a long time ago, especialy for only $25. What incident are u referring to?
CSpenceFLY 1 #6 February 17, 2009 I have a set that was home made back before PD or anyone else ever thought about soft links. I'll try to get a picture posted of them.

What incident are u referring to? 1500 jumps on a set of slinks. 1 Slink broke during a highspeedlanding (when recovering from the dive after a 270). Happened in AZ I think. Was on the incidents forum a few years ago.
