aresye 0 #1 September 24, 2008 Got a quick question for you all. I've recently been getting into GL. I have a great mentor helping me out with the basics, and in a few weeks I should be taking the GL course with Jim. I jump a 190 Spectre, with a collapsable slider. I intend to use the canopy mainly to practice kiting, and forward launches. How can I remove the slider? I know how to remove the slider from the front and back risers, but the problem lies with the steering lines. I have large 3-rings, with the large style risers. I there any way to remove the slider from the steering lines, or am I doomed to consult a master rigger?Skydiving: You either learn from other's mistakes, or they'll learn from yours. floormonkey 0 #2 September 24, 2008 take the toggle off the brake line, pull the line out of the guide ring. take off the slider. put the line through the guide ring. put the toggle back on (through the back, over the bottom.)
aresye 0 #3 September 24, 2008 Okay, I found the error in my ways, and was able to remove the slider. Did a continuity check with the canopy, and everything is good to go. Thanks for the tip! Turned out I was slipping the line off the toggle the wrong way.Skydiving: You either learn from other's mistakes, or they'll learn from yours.

aresye 0 #6 October 24, 2008 Had a rigger check my canopy before skydiving again. Everything was setup perfectly, yet I had one nasty slammer. Yes...I remembered to put the slider back on Skydiving: You either learn from other's mistakes, or they'll learn from yours.
