morris 0 #1 March 10, 2008 Hi, I´ve just read the PD-Blog about Nik Daniels flying a Sabre2 107 to 5th place in a CPC comp. Congratulations, I´m impressed! As we don´t have amateur comps with 10ft gates in Europe I´d like to know how the official speed course for the CPC looks like. Kolla posted Niks time, it´s been 3.4 seconds. If the speed course would be we official IPC-course, a 75 degrees carve over a distance of 70m (~230ft), this time would have been worth almost 80 points at the WorldCup during the same speed-round(s) Jay set (a) new world record(s). Therefore I think you must have a different kind of speed-course for the CPC. Please let me know how it looks like, thanks. Second question: I´d like to know how the handicap-system for participating pros is working, thanks again.
ianmdrennan 2 #2 March 11, 2008 The speed course for a CPC pilot is 10 foot gates, 180 foot course. The carve is the same as a 'pro' course. The handicap system is pretty much just gate height. Pro's must hit 5 ft gates and amateurs must hit 10 foot gates. Event specific rules: Distance - 10 ft for AM's, 5ft for pros Speed - 180 feet long with 10 ft gates for AM's; 5ft 220 feet long for pros. 30 degree carve for both groups Accuracy - Pro's as normal. Am's only have to ecilpse ONE of the water gates and they don't have to drag water to get the score. Blues, IanPerformance Designs Factory Team
raymod2 1 #4 March 16, 2008 Ian was mistaken about the carve. It is not 30 degrees for both courses. CPC: 60 degree carve over 180 feet (10 foot gates) PST: 75 degree carve over 220 feet (5 foot gates) The extra length of the pro course is a very big handicap. Expect it to add roughly one second to your times.
