Scoop 0 #1 April 16, 2007 Right, you may remember I was having difficulty getting my canopy to dive and spiral. Its a huuuuge 210 Silhouette loaded 1.19:1 and I can now initiate the dive pretty fast with front riser and shifting in the harness at the same time but I can still only turn about 270 degrees before I can't hold the dive loop any longer. It just gets too heavy. Any tips? I'm really enjoying learning to fly the canopy up high and in space and want to crack this! Would maybe transitioning to toggles after initiating the dive prolong the dive/spiral? Thanks
 phoenixlpr 0 #2 April 16, 2007 How much time do you need for doing that 270 degrees turn?
 Scoop 0 #3 April 16, 2007 How you mean? How long it takes? I suppose it takes about 3-4 seconds
 phoenixlpr 0 #4 April 16, 2007 You might reach maximum speed of that wing configuration in 6-7 seconds. Speed - lift... so you can not hold it longer. What is the reason that front riser spiral?
 Scoop 0 #5 April 16, 2007 Ok thanks. Purely for personal enjoyment UP HIGH and when AWAY FROM TRAFFIC. I see others do it and I'd like to be able to but I guess its not easy on a large canopy. I had to do this when I was filming tandems on my maveric 200. there is much less pressure that way and you can hold it as long as you want. blue skies, Rhys"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
