skyshimas 0 #27 April 6, 2007 QuoteQuoteBut i am not ready yet since i am not pushing anything out of my 170 (doing 180's only) Wow! Can you nail 90 degree landing every time in place, consistently? I'm still not having more rotation, than 90 degrees and I'm still not satisfied. I don't even know what to say.Well I am fairly accurate on landings although i don't put the exact spot on the ground and say i am gonna land there after my 180 but i can land in almost the same spot jump after jump if I want to and if traffic and other circumstances allow. skyshimas 0 #28 April 6, 2007 Quotealso this note....you are on the right size to learn... at about your jumps I decided I needed a 150 and bought a pilot 150 because I needed something "swoopier" thatn my canopy to learn on which was a safire 1 179. I learned that it sucks to bounce when I didnt really have the eye for what I wanted to do... I then upsized to a 170 sabre 2 and learned a shitload about swooping on it which I then transfered to a 150 sabre 2 and then down to current canopies... what I will say is this....contact kim at pd and the wqebsite that I mentioned and demo a 169 safire2 and a 170 sabre 2 let me know via PM when you have them and I will come down there and pass on some knowledge that was passed on to me by some damn good teachers...I will even spend some time doing some high hop and pops with you should manifest and pilots agree to it.... Dave Thanks bro for your offer I need every good advice I can get to be safe and cautious in the learning process not to jump ahead of myself and then get hurt just to know whats the right thing to do. I don't remember Hippie Bill but Robson is the man really nice guy and cautious instructor. It is hard to get any info on swooping from him tho. He says don't get hurt or i'll come and kick you if you do LOL people seem to be scared to give advices because they don't want you to get hurt doing smth that they told you to do( gave you a tip) but isn't it worse if you get hurt while doing smth wrong because nobody told you whants the right thing to do? I still have one for WS and i do normaly 200-250 feet Isn't it an eliptical canopy? i don't want to do it yet- not ready ps: I will probably try to demo safire2 and sabre2 later in the season. People say that sabre 2 is good but there might be some reasons behind which i am not aware of sabre- american safire-french i am not trying to say that it is because of political issues between the countries but maybe local product is more used than imported and some other reasons as well. also I woun't buy a new canopy and i think sabre is a little easier to come along with than safire or any other brand. hparrish 0 #32 April 9, 2007 I'd highly recommend taking Scott Miller's or Brian Germain's canopy courses. I've heard nothing but good things about both.

I agree as well, knowing his home dropzone it will be hard to organize something like that as it is a very small dz on the jersey Shore... Brian does make appearances at Skies the Limit, and you can check his schedule at: http://www.bigairsportz.com/schedule.php Scott Miller does courses at the Ranch yearly and can be contacted through his website http://freedomofflight.tv/public/index.php?which=canopy Cheers Davehttp://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing. mfnren 2 #37 April 11, 2007 Any body know if there is a difference in recovery arc between the NITRO and the NITRON? I jump a nitron 150 and find the recovery arc is very short...I liked the longer recovery arc of a sabre 2 when I demoed one, just doing 90's ... Some guy from Hiper posted the difference some time ago. He claimed that Nitro is better than Nitron.
gearless_chris 1 #39 April 11, 2007 Beezy says the Nitro has spanwise reinforcing tapes, the Nitron does not. The stabilizers are also different but I don't have the demo Nitro yet to compare them. He said everything elsee is exactly the same, except this year the material will be the silicon based ZP material, because the good stuff (not slippery) is no longer available. I'm jumping a 170 Nitron right now and am looking to demo the Nitro 150 next week if it quits snowing"If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
