hjumper33 0 #1 January 22, 2007 Has anyone ever had a problem with launching a new spot or even a popular spot. There are well known spots 2 or so hours from me, but there are a lot of foothills that seem quite launchable. Anyone opened a spot and have tips, besides obviously wind conditions and grade, that I should look for in a new spot.
rhys 0 #2 January 22, 2007 Always ask before trying! land owners are much more receptive to respectful people. I have seen a wonderful site (paragliding) closed down because of lack of respect. Now i wish o could GL there but cannot. the spot was featured on Gravity pilots! If you see a site that you want to try. it couldn't be too hard to find the owner. you might find you are welcome to a cuppa when you go launching? it depends on you personality and thier personality. but all the people that I have asked have let me go for it!"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix

mgattini 0 #4 January 22, 2007 You can go to your local map store and get a BLM map of your area. Anything that is BLM is fair game for GL or paragliding.....
