rickfri59 0 #1 December 18, 2002 Anybody know if the riser covers on a vector 2 ( mfr date 5/95) can be converted from velcro to tuck tabs? And what can be done to bolster a marginally secure main closing flap? I want to progress to freefly this coming summer. I got a pretty good deal on the rig and would rather not have to replace it. fudd 0 #2 December 18, 2002 I'll have some freefly mods done on my vector II soon (january maybe). When I do I'll post some pictures with what's done. I know I shall get a mod on the main closing tab and added bridle protection. Considdering to buy velcroless toggles. More because they wont wear so much on my brakelines as velcro ones rather than freefly friendlyness... There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

rapper4mpi 0 #4 December 19, 2002 I'm not sure about the conversion to tuck tabs, although I bet not. However, with new velcro that is a bit beefier than the standard size, you will be just fine. I did about 300 freefly jumps with my Vector II, however, it never came open, and if it did, I would ahve stopped jumping with it on freefly jumps. Just keep an eye on it and don't get lazy with the maintenance. As for the closing tabs, that is more difficult. In the long run, if you plan to get serious about freeflying, don't risk it, and get the best possible rig you can afford. Your life is worth the investment. -Rap
