RMURRAY 1 #26 October 3, 2006 QuoteTalking JVX.... How big does a 80 Hybrid pack(like a VX 90? Bigger?) And how much should you load it if you want maximum distance? 2.5? I like the VX at 2.25. Should one have sail on top or bottom skin. No room for full sail from the expert on the other site, a 85JVX all sail packs like a conventional 135 (like a ST135). For a hybrid (i.e. top skin sail) the difference from all zero p is not that dramatic. sail on top is what most are ordering I believe. about loading I'd talk directly to one of the guys who has bought one recently. Nick Batsch for example... rm
polarbear 1 #27 October 3, 2006 Ive got an 87 Hybrid, sail on top and bottom, packs like a 120. My all-sail 83 packs like a BIG 135. "Holy s*** that was f***in' cold!"
cessna54tango 0 #28 October 4, 2006 hey a quick sail question..... with a hybrid, or full sail jvx, do you have to leave it unpacked, does it created "memory folds" i know it would make it super easy to pack, but does this do it, or does it hurt? smizo
superstu 0 #29 October 6, 2006 Quotehow much should you load it if you want maximum distance? 2.5? I like the VX at 2.25 from what i've experienced and what i've seen on the PST some where between 2.2-2.6 is where most are flying it for distance. "optimal" wingloadings, for any canopy, is dependant on the pilot. not only that but ones "optimal" wingloading, or peception of "optimal" wingloading, will change over time and experience as well.Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
Widgeon 0 #30 October 7, 2006 To the original author of this thread: Send your canopy in to PD if you are in any way unpleased with it. The canopy will be completely inspected and then test jumped to determine if there is in fact a problem. There are quite a few variables that can change the opening characteristics of your canopy, and if you're not satisfied, a check up doesn't hurt. Blues... Still too soon to tell. Unless you intend on competing I see no reason to go with the Hybrid or Full Sail Material JVX. The Zero-P still gives you a significant performance edge over most of whats out there today.
