Maxx 1 #1 July 9, 2005 Hi, I just can't get it. I tried right hand turns today and it didn't work. It just feels totally weird when I pull the riser with the right hand. I ended up doing my turn much too fast and was flying straight in 100 feet. It feels like I don't have the strength in my right hand to turn it slowly, though I am right handed. Has anybody got some useful suggestions beside the "Just do it like a left handed turn" ? Why does it feel so totally different? Thanks in advance, Max
freeflydrew 0 #2 July 9, 2005 practice right hand turns before you land (up high) and then land with a left hand dive. Once you're all dialed in with the right hand dive, use that to land with!
livenletfly 0 #3 July 11, 2005 honestly i dont understand what you mean. are you saying the right front riser is harder to pull down than the left? id day start doing some pull ups cuz the stiletto has the lightest front riser pressure than all other hp canopys. you shouldnt have any problems unless you have very very little strengh. make sure your in full straight flite. if you are coming out of a toggle turn and the canopy hasnt fully recovered to level flight then the risers will be hard to pull down cuz they're fully loaded.>
Swooopa-x 0 #4 July 11, 2005 I used to race motorcycles. heard a lot of this type issue in those circles. It sounds to me like a purely mental block - do 'em up high- lots -and the problem will fade. I agree keep using your left to land till the issue is gone. you dont want distracting thoughts running thru your head as you thunder groundwards. Mental issues can be tricky. approach this thing patiently calmly and without expectation of a result. It'll dissolve in time.People dont care how much you know until they know how much you care. Maxx 1 #5 July 11, 2005 Quoteare you saying the right front riser is harder to pull down than the left? Yes, at least it seems to me like that.. With the left I can gently pull it down all the way. With the right I have the feeling that I really have to rip it down to get an effect, which results in a fast turn with very little altitude loss... Maxx 1 #6 July 11, 2005 Hi, Thank you, this is what I expected, just a mental block.. I definitly will try them the next few jumps up high to dial them in before I will use them again to land..
